SHOW STATEMENT: Picasso is attributed with the quote, “Good artists copy, great artists steal.” We are influenced by each photo, each artwork, each design, each glimpse of beauty, of order, of disorder, of decay from the patterns gracing a flower to the faded poster on an alley wall, each moment of discord and each glimpse of grace that adorns the world around us. We have been shaped by these glimpses. They illuminate our visual and conceptual view. So we create, reflecting and refracting the beams of inspiration that have passed through each of our lenses, to develop something unique that might travel on. So we come together here, as an eclectic collective, embracing each of our distinct views as we come together to create.

Legends/Leyendas Exhibition
An interdisciplinary exchange between painting students, taught by Angela Battle, and stories from Legends and Mythology, taught by Inbal Mazar. Stories were translated from their native languages by Prof. Mazar's students and then translated into visual art by students of Prof. Battle's painting courses.
March 9 - April 6, 2022, Weekes Gallery, Drake University, Des Moines, IA.
Responsible for poster design with hand-made specialty typeface and graphics; and one painting included in the show.
